To all members:

  1. Annual General Meeting
    In accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association of HKSSH, the Annual General Meeting will be held in Lecture Hall, 8/F, Block G, Princess Margaret Hospital at 10am (Saturday) on 2nd January 2010.

  2. The 22nd HKSSH Annual Congress
    The 22nd HKSSH /2nd HKSHT Annual Congresses were successfully held in Hong Kong between 7-8 March 2009, together with pre-congress workshop with hands on dissection course on Brachial plexus conducted by Professor David Chuang at the Hong Kong University.

  3. Renewal of membership
    If you are not yet a life/full/associate member of HKSSH, please do not hesitate to join us in order to enjoy many of the benefits and privileges by submitting an application (download application form from our website). In addition to privileged discounts on attending Annual Congress and other academic activities, you are also entitled to discount rate on Hand Surgery submission and scholarships for members.   4. The 52nd JSSH Annual Meeting & JSSH Exchange Ambassador                                       
    Dr Marianne Lam Man-Yan was elected by HKSSH Council to join the exchange ambassador program with the Japanese Society for Surgery of the Hand from 16-17 April 2009. This program includes attending the 52nd JSSH Annual Scientific Meeting held in Tokyo JAPAN with an extended program to visit several hospitals.
    The HKSSH provide one USD 1,800 scholarship for full member and is now open for application. For application of Japanese Society for Surgery of the Hand Exchange Ambassador Program 2010, please send your application form, CV, and one recent digital photo and your abstract to me at tse.winglim@gmail.com or call me at 73821079. A stay of 7 to 10 days, attending the meeting with paper presentation and visiting several hospitals are mandatory.   5. Scholarships Application for HKSSH 2010 Annual Congress for overseas hand surgeons
    Scholarships for HKSSH 2010 Annual Congress are now open for application. 2 International Scholarships with amount of HKD 5,000 each are available. The deadline for application of the International scholarship is 30th November 2009. Surgeons from Mainland China are also welcome to apply.

  6. Scholarships Application for APFSSH 2009 for local members
    For Local surgeons in Hong Kong, 4 scholarships with HKD 6,000 for Full member of HKSSH and 2 scholarships of HKD 3,000 for associate members are open for application. The deadline for application is 15 October 2009.
    Any application must fulfill the follow requirements:
    1. Submit an Abstract and accepted for free paper presentation,
    2. Submit a full CV to the HKSSH secretary
    3. Declare no other scholarship applied at this episode

  7. Scholarships Application for IFSSH 2010 for local members
    The 11th International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (IFSSH) will be held in Seoul, Korea on 31st October to 4th November 2010.
    The HKSSH will provide 4 scholarships with HKD 6,000 for Full member of HKSSH and 2 scholarships of HKD 3,000 for associate members are open for application. The deadline for application is 30 June 2010.
    Any application must fulfill the follow requirements:
    1. Submit an Abstract and accepted for free paper presentation,
    2. Submit a full CV to the HKSSH secretary
    3. Declare no other scholarship applied at this episode.

  8. Up Coming Events
    1. 2010 Elbow arthroscopy Workshop in collaboration with Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, PWH, will be held in OLC, PWH on 17 March 2010. Further information will be announced later.
    2. 2010 HKSSH Annual Congress will be held on 20th-21st March, 2010 in PYNEH. The topic is “Major Trauma in the Upper Limb - 21st Century Perspective”. It is open for registration. Deadline for Early registration is 31 Jan 2010 and deadline for Abstract submission is 31 Dec 2009
    3. 2010 Hong Kong International Wrist Arthroscopy Workshop and Seminar organized by Orthopaedic Learning Centre, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, PWH will be held in PWH in October 2009. Further information will be announced later.
